A student whose cumulative average is lower than 2.00 at the end of any academic year will be dismissed for poor scholarship. Such students may subsequently apply for readmission and may be placed on academic probation if readmitted. A student whose cumulative average is between 2.00 and 2.49 at the end of any prior academic year will be designated as “academically at risk.” This designation will not appear on students’ transcripts. Such students will be required to participate in a program designed to improve their overall performance by focusing both on academic proficiency and professional skills.
For the academic years prior to 2013-2014, students whose cumulative averages were lower than 2.00 at the end of any academic year were either dismissed or placed on academic probation, and may have been required or given the option to repeat the first year. Further information regarding academic probation under prior policy may be obtained by contacting the Associate Dean for Students.
