Alice AbreuHonorable Nelson A. Diaz Professor of Law, Director of Center for Tax Law and Public Policy
Professor Alice Abreu has taught at Temple for over 30 years. During that time she has developed a reputation as a nationally and internationally known scholar who can de-mystify the tax system and help her students discover its relevance and importance to both their lives and that of every client they will ever have. Her extensive work with the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and other tax organizations have not only kept her connected to the issues that animate contemporary tax practice but have also allowed her to make the Center the hub of many tax-related activities.

Kathy MandelbaumActing Director of Graduate Tax Programs, Associate Professor of Law
Kathy Mandelbaum teaches both basic and advanced Estate Planning, Drafting Fundamental Estate Planning Documents, and Non-Profit Organizations in Temple’s LL.M. in Taxation curriculum, as well as Introduction to Transactional Skills in the J.D. curriculum. She also supervises Temple’s Wills for Heroes program and its Transgender Name Change project.

Nancy KnauerDirector of the Law and Public Policy Program, Sheller Professor of Public Interest Law
Nancy Knauer is the Director of Temple’s Law & Public Policy Programs. She teaches in the areas of Taxation, Trusts & Estates, Law & Public Policy, Political & Civil Rights, and Property. Professor Knauer was selected as one of 26 law professors from across the nation to be featured in the book What the Best Law Teachers Do, published by Harvard University Press in 2013.

Andrea MonroeProfessor of Law
Andrea Monroe teaches Taxation, Taxation II, Partnership Taxation, and is the faculty director for Temple’s innovative Introduction to Transactional Skills program (ITS). ITS is an immersive experience that puts first-year law students on their feet as lawyers negotiating a business deal for their clients. She is a respected scholar who is a contributor to an influential tax treatise.
