USING AI IN ADVOCACY EDUCATION – January 22, 2026

January 22, 2026

The 13th free online advocacy conference hosted by Temple University Beasley School of Law focused on artificial intelligence – what it is, how it is or can be used in advocacy education, a cautionary tale about its potential downsides, and a report from a study on the impact of AI in hiring.

The Conference was titled USING AI IN ADVOCACY EDUCATION, and presenters were members of the national advocacy education community, one practitioner, and Drexel University’s Director of the Center for Applied AI and Business Analytics and the Dornsife Office for Experiential Learning. In order, the presenters are:

· Danny Buckwalter – an AI overview

· James Yoon – talking about Six Secrets to Using Gen AI as Your Mock Courtroom and other AI-in-law-practice considerations

· Robert Little – using AI to assess mock trial case files as a starting point for case analysis

· Marissa Bluestine – using Westlaw co-counsel

· Lance Caughfield – creating and using GPT’s as Reflection Tutors in skills courses using ChatGPT and Harvey

· Megan Daic – using Custom GPTs to prepare ADR students and using ChatGPT to help draft fact patterns and offside confidentials

· Grant Rost– using AI to help make materials (templates, largely) in order to give NextGen style exams

· Henry Su– how to teach the profession that we humans remain relevant and crucial even as AI evolves in leaps and bounds, and how best to harness AI as a tool

· Dr. Murugan Anandarajan – to speak about their recent paper, AI is changing who gets hired – what skills will keep you employed?
