Chris Hirokawa ‘20 is a 2018 Law & Public Policy Scholar, Weisman Fellow, and Barrack Scholar at Temple University Beasley School of Law. Chris is a native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania and graduated cum laude from Skidmore College in 2012 with a B.A. in English and French.Before entering law school, Chris worked as Executive Assistant and Research Associate for Garriott Enterprises.

LL.M. in Taxation Curriculum – Temple Law

This course addresses issues of accumulation, conservation and distribution of wealth will be addressed in this course. It examines the applicability of various pre and postmortem estate planning tools and techniques including wills, trusts, life insurance and inter-vivos transfers, together with the tax consequences which arise from their use.

Throughout law school, he plans to also study tax policy, administrative law, international trade, and corporate law. Mr. Elia’s policy paper is focusing on the lack of access to basic goods and services—such as grocery stores, voter identification, and banking—in low income communities.
