Temple Law student Shanna Miles ’16 has been named a 2014
Barristers’ Association Scholarship Award Recipient.
The first-year student, who is active in several Temple Law

for the Mid-‐Atlantic Black Law Student Association. Her
record of service at Temple is a continuation of the commitment she
made during her undergraduate studies at Howard University, where
in addition to several roles on campus, she served as Team Leader
and Program Coordinator for the District of Columbia Department of
the Environment Mayor’s Green Summer Job Corps Program, which was
designed to train disadvantaged youth from Washington, DC in the
green collar job sector and promote pathways out of poverty through
hands-‐on skill-building.
