It is Law School policy not to cancel classes or exams unless classes have been cancelled for the entire university. Always check online first when uncertain of a cancellation.
Instructors may cancel individual classes, and will make arrangements in advance for notifying their students of cancellations and make-up dates. If in doubt, a student should check Canvas, e-mail, the instructor, or the Law School website.
Temple University Inclement Weather and Unscheduled Campus Closings
As we approach the potential for inclement winter weather, it is a good time to review the policies and procedures in the event of necessary class cancellations and/or campus closures.
When a decision is made to close a campus, cancel classes or delay an opening, all students and employees can expect to receive an emergency notification via the TUalert system, by text and email. Make sure your mobile phone is registered to receive a TUalert by verifying your contact information in TUportal.
The Temple University homepage will be updated immediately following a decision to close, cancel or delay opening. The website is the most comprehensive means of getting the latest updates. Information can also be found on X and Facebook.
SEPTA will provide information about unscheduled changes on their website.
Temple University’s calendar is constructed with the expectation that academic and business operations will be carried out as scheduled, and every effort will be made to maintain the academic schedule. Faculty members should communicate any plans to conduct class remotely with students in a timely manner. Students should confirm the status of their classes with their instructors, as classes that can continue remotely may not be affected by campus closures.
