Every year, the Temple Law community comes together in the spirit of giving to host the annual Holiday Toy Drive. These gifts, from sports equipment to art supplies, will go towards bringing the children of Frankford, Philadelphia, through the Frankford Community Development Corporation, the happy holiday they deserve.
The Holiday Toy Drive culminates with a family-style event at the Second Baptist Church of Frankford to celebrate the holidays. The event includes dinner, gifts, and activities with the children and families of Frankford – and, if we’re lucky, Santa himself.
This year the law school was able to donate 545 toys, breaking our goal of 500 toys. Along with the new, unwrapped toys, donated items also included hats, gloves, and scarves. Special thanks to 2L Elizabeth Shultz, 3L Lilah Thompson, and 2L Liam Thomas of the Student Public Interest Network, the Student Bar Association, and Nadeem Bezar LAW ‘91, who coordinated our alumni giving.
