Professor Laura Bingham Featured in Panel on the Environmental Costs of AI 

On October 16, the Temple University Libraries and the Office of Sustainability hosted a panel event titled Greener Intelligence? The Environmental Costs of AI and the Path to Sustainable Innovation. The panelists included: 

• Laura Bingham, J.D., M.A. Practice Professor of Law and Executive Director, Institute for Law, Innovation, and Technology, Temple Law School 

• Larry Brandolph Vice President for Information Technology, Temple University 

• Brian Hutler, J.D., Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Philosophy, Temple University 

• Sudhir Kumar, Ph.D. Laura H. Carnell Professor and Director, Institute for Genomics and Evolutionary Medicine (iGEM) 

The event featured presentations from each of the panelists spanning topics such as the evolution of data centers, innovative applications for AI tools, and the social, political, and environmental costs associated with the proliferation of AI use. Watch the full recording here.
