The Temple University Beasley School of Law National Trial Team brought home Semi-Final honors in the National Criminal Justice Trial Competition, advancing to the final four against an intensely competitive field of teams from 19 other schools. The competition was held at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago from March 19-21, 2015.
Temple Law School was represented at the competition by National Trial Team members Abigail Thibeault (3L), Caitlin Rice (3L), John McCaul (3L), and Sarah Kiewlicz (2L) (pictured above). Professor Jennifer Bretschneider, who coached the team with Emilia McKee Vassallo LAW ’14, expressed tremendous pride in the team’s performance: “The team worked extremely hard and advocated with passion and the highest degree of professionalism and ethics. I could not be more proud. There is no question that each student on this team will leave the program prepared to excel in advocacy.”
The competition, now in its 25th year, is co-sponsored by the Criminal Justice Section of the American Bar Association and The John Marshall Law School. In addition to coaches Emilia McKee Vassallo and Professor Jennifer Bretschneider, the team was led by Interim Director of Advocacy Programs David Sonenshein.
