Tom West is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy at the United States Treasury Department, having previously held the positions of Tax Legislative Counsel, and Acting Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy. Mr. West has extensive experience in the private sector as well, having advised clients on tax policy and regulatory matters at both law firms and accounting firms. He holds a JD from Temple Law School and an LL.M. (Tax) from Georgetown University Law Center.
