Beyond Deportation: The Role of Prosecutorial Discretion in Immigration Cases

Penn State Law Prof. Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia will be discussing her new book, Beyond Deportation: The Role of Prosecutorial Discretion in Immigration Cases. Given Congress’s failure to legislate immigration reform, this is the most important topic in immigration law at the moment. She will be joined by Widener Prof. Jill Family, an expert in the administrative law questions relating to prosecutorial discretion. They will discuss both DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans), which have been discussed widely in the media and in advocacy circles. Prof. Sivaprasad Wadhia has been a frequent guest on national news media and Prof. Family has testified before Congress on these hot topics in immigration law.

The talk will held on September 10 at noon in Klein Hall, room K2A.
