She has extensive research experience for leading international jurists and has published several papers on human\u00a0rights, human trafficking, and sexual violence.\u00a0She received her JD and Certificate in Trial Advocacy from Temple Law in 2016 and a B.A. in International Studies with Concentrations in Peace and Conflict Resolution and Europe from\u00a0American\u00a0University in 2013.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1123\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1123\" style=\"width: 325px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.law.temple.edu\/iilpp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_6786-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1123\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.law.temple.edu\/iilpp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/IMG_6786-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"335\" height=\"223\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1123\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Professor Jaya Ramji-Nogales, Sela Cowger &#8217;17, Kelsey Lee &#8217;16, and Anu Thomas &#8217;17<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Anu Thomas \u201917 is an associate in the Litigation Department of Ballard Spahr in Philadelphia.\u00a0 Her practice focuses on counseling employees on a wide range of labor employment issues.\u00a0 Prior to her work at Ballard Spahr, she served as an education and community outreach field officer and project manager at the Profugo Organization in South India, where she developed and implemented the English language curriculum. Anu maintains an active pro bono practice, particularly working with clients seeking asylum and other immigration-related matters.\u00a0 Further, she is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.\u00a0 While at Temple Law, Anu was the Editor-in-Chief of the <em>Temple International and Comparative Law Journal<\/em>.\u00a0 She graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Sela Cowger \u201917 is a Judicial Law Clerk at the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) in New York City. \u00a0During law school,\u00a0she spent much of her time working with various immigrant rights and refugee organizations including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the Migration Policy Institute, and the National Immigration Forum.
