Alexander Fried<\/strong> is a Beasley Scholar, Law & Public Policy Scholar, and Institute for International Law and Public Policy Fellow at Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. He also serves as the Co-President of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Honor Society and is a former President of the Temple International Law Society. Alexander has worked for Microsoft, the United States Senate, the United States Department of State, and FTI Consulting\u2019s Export Controls, Sanctions, and Global Trade team during his law school career. He graduates in May of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the son of a Czech political refugee, Alexander was interested in global political economy questions from a young age. In pursuit of this passion, he attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where he earned his Bachelors of Arts in International Affairs and Economics. During that time, he worked part time in several roles advocating on global trade issues. From working in the House of Representatives during Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations to working for a major agriculture company in the middle of the US\/China Trade War, he quickly became enthralled by global trade policy making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexander is interested in global trade law, cybersecurity, the intersection of markets, law, and international relations, and U.S. export controls and sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n

Helena Hanson<\/strong> is a Beasley Scholar and an Institute for International Law and Public Policy Fellow at the Temple James E. Beasley School of Law and a coordinator for the American Society for International Law\u2019s Women in International Law Interest Group Mentoring Program. She also serves as the Co-Chair for social media for Temple\u2019s Environmental Law Society. This past summer, she worked as a Research Assistant for Professor Duncan Hollis, where she assisted in drafting a law review article regarding the peaceful settlement of disputes and its relevant application to cyber dispute settlement as well as compiling recent updates on the law of treaties for his upcoming textbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally from Washington D.C., she graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 2019, majoring in Political Science, with concentrations in History and Arabic. Whilst at Bryn Mawr, she studied abroad at the UCL\u2019s School of Oriental and African Studies in London, where she focused on international dispute settlement and improving her Arabic proficiency. Prior to beginning law school, she worked as a law clerk for an LGBTQ+ estate planning and family law firm in Philadelphia, where she honed her transactional skills, working one-on-one to develop strong client relationships. In her free time, she enjoyed promoting sustainable farming practices on her family\u2019s beef farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helena is interested in International Environmental Law, International Commercial Trade and Compliance and its intersection with settling growing cyber conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n

Hoy Lee<\/strong> is a second-year law student at Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. She is a Beasley Scholar, and Institute of International Law and Public Policy Fellow. Hoy also serves as Staff Editor for the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal, and President for the International Law Society, and participates as a member of the International Criminal Court Moot Court Team. Following her first year of law school, Hoy interned with the Domestic Violence Initiative at HIAS Pennsylvania, where she assisted low-income immigrant survivors of domestic violence with applying for legal status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoy is interested in International Human Rights, particularly in North Korea and China, and International Criminal Law. She is fluent in Korean, and conversational in Spanish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
