About the Event 

Following introductions from Associate Dean Jeffrey Dunoff, Temple Law faculty experts Dara Purvis, Evelyn Rangel-Medina, and Ben Heath will discuss several of the Supreme Court’s most important decisions from last term, among them cases involving LGBTQ+ rights, executive power, and immigrants’ rights. About the Speakers

Dara Purvis

James E. Beasley Professor of Law

Professor Dara E. Purvis is a scholar of family law, sexual orientation and gender identity, feminist legal theory, and masculinities. Her recent work focuses on the constitutional rights of transgender children. Her work has appeared in the California Law Review, Boston University Law Review, Wake Forest Law Review, Florida State Law Review, Michigan State Law Review, the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism, Cambridge University Press, and The New York Times. 

Evelyn Rangel-Medina

Assistant Professor of Law

Evelyn Rangel-Medina (Wixárika) is an interdisciplinary legal scholar who writes and teaches in the areas of immigration law, constitutional criminal procedure, employment discrimination law, indigenous rights, and race and the law. 

Ben Heath

Associate Professor of Law

Professor Heath’s primary research interests include international trade, investment law, dispute resolution, global health, administrative law, public international law, and the national security dimensions of trade and investment. He teaches Civil Procedure and International Arbitration.

Jeff Dunoff is the Associate Dean for Research and Laura H. Carnell Professor of Law at Temple University Beasley School of Law. His research and writing focus on public international law, international regulatory regimes, international courts, international organizations, and interdisciplinary approaches to international law.
