About the Event

Join Temple Law students and faculty for the presentation of six Meltzer Fellowship public interest projects. This is an opportunity for students to hear about various types of public interest work, as well as learn how to become a future Meltzer Fellowship candidate.

  • Emily Done – Writer’s Block project to write letters to incarcerated individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Lee Kennedy, Amanda Lorei, and Maria Thomson – Housing Justice Advocacy Structure with Community Legal Services
  • Woayorm Kumazah – Resource Guide for Spanish Speaking Immigrants in Need of Immigration Legal Services with Esperanza Immigration Legal Services
  • Ariel Scholl – Safe Space Network with A Friend in Need Philadelphia, establishing a non-profit to create a network of safe spaces where people without shelter can contact and get transport to services such as housing, food, & healthcare
  • Kate Steiker-Ginzberg – Documentary film on “juvenile lifers” with Kempis “Ghani” Songster
  • Eleanor Carpenter, Joshua Friedman, Alex Leone, Lee Kennedy, and Dan Symonds – “Street Lawyering” Services for Kensington with Operation In My Backyard
