about the event
Join Temple University Beasley School of Law for a 2025 Dean’s Forum on the Proposed U.S. Constitutional Amendment to Improve Campaign Financing. This panel presentation features remarks from two speakers; Brian Boyle, Chief Program Officer and General Counsel of American Promise and Bradley Smith, former FEC Chairman and Capitol University Professor of Law. The discussion will focus on the proposed For Our Freedom amendment that, if ratified, would restore legislative oversight to campaign financing regulation at the state and federal levels. The organization that is leading the charge, American Promise, reports that 22 states have already called on Congress to propose such an amendment. If ratified, the amendment would effectively nullify the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United.
