  • The Professor Samuel Gyandoh Award

    Awarded to the graduates in the International LL.M. Program who have rendered outstanding professional and personal service to the Law School Community.

  • The Professor Peter Sevareid Award

    Awarded to the graduate in the International LL.M. Program who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in academic studies at Temple.

  • The Faculty Award – Taxation LL.M.

    Awarded to the graduate in the Taxation LL.M. Program who demonstrates outstanding achievement in academic studies at Temple.

  • The Faculty Award – Transnational LL.M.

    Awarded to the graduate in the Transnational LL.M. Program who demonstrates outstanding achievement in academic studies at Temple.

  • The Faculty Award – Trial Advocacy LL.M.

    Awarded to the graduate in the Trial Advocacy LL.M. Program who demonstrates outstanding achievement in courtroom presentation and performance.

  • Albert L. Bricklin Memorial Award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement

    Established in memory of Albert L. Bricklin ’38, founding partner of Bricklin Bennett & Saltzburg. To the graduate in the Evening Division who achieves the highest cumulative grade point average.

  • Israel Packel Memorial Award for Distinguished Scholastic Performance

    In memory of Professor Israel Packel, faculty member, attorney general of the Commonwealth, and justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Established by a principal gift from his former law firm, Fox, Rothschild, O’Brien & Frankel, and by gifts from admirers and friends. To the graduate in the Day Division with the highest cumulative average.

  • The Faculty Award for Academic Achievement

    Awarded to the graduates chosen by the Faculty for outstanding overall academic achievement.

  • The Lynne M. Abraham Award

    Established by the Temple Law Alumni Association, this award honors Lynne M. Abraham, Class of 1965, and a former Court of Common Pleas judge, who was sworn in as the first woman district attorney of Philadelphia in May 1991. Awarded to graduates with outstanding grades in Criminal Law and Professional Responsibility who plan to work in a public service position.

  • The David Adamany Award

    Established by David Adamany, former President of Temple University. For the graduating students who excel in the study of constitutional law.

  • The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Eric D. Turner Award

    Sponsored by the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Awarded to the graduating student who best exemplifies the positive attributes of a matrimonial lawyer.

  • The Arthur L and Minette Berns Memorial Prize in Real Estate Law

    Established by the family and friends, including Mrs. Arthur L. Berns, Dr. and Mrs. Carl Citron and Mrs. Sylvia Goldman in memory of Arthur L. Berns. Awarded to the graduating student who demonstrates excellence in real estate law.

  • The Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA) Outstanding Clinic Student Award

    To the graduate who has demonstrated outstanding work in a clinic and contributed to the clinical community at Temple.

  • The Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA) Outstanding Externship Student Award

    To the graduate who has demonstrated excellence in the field work component of an externship course.

  • Catherine Donahue Memorial Award

    To the graduates with the highest grades in trusts and estates.

  • Terrence H. Klasky Memorial Award

    Established in memory of Terrence Howell Klasky, Class of 1972. To the graduate who demonstrated outstanding achievement in banking, negotiable instruments, or consumer protection.

  • Nancy J. Knauer & Eleanor W. Myers Integrated Transactional Program Award

    To the graduates who demonstrated outstanding achievement in the Integrated Transactional Program.

  • Harry R. Kozart Memorial Prize

    Established in memory of Harry R. Kozart, Class of 1932. To the graduate who attained the highest grades in courses related to food and drug law or products liability.

  • Robert E. Lamberton Award

    Established by Judge Samuel Rosenberg. To the graduates who have received the highest grades in constitutional law.

  • The Law & Public Policy Scholars Award

    To the Law & Public Policy Scholars who have made outstanding contributions to the Temple Law & Public Policy Program.

  • The Robert C. Podwil Memorial Prize

    Established by the partners of the law firm of Reed, Smith, Shaw & McClay, the award honors Robert C. Podwil, a late partner of the firm and a distinguished member of the adjunct faculty at Temple Law School. It is awarded annually to the graduate who demonstrated excellent academic performance in the area of intellectual property.

  • The Joseph W. Price III Memorial Award

    To the graduates who demonstrated outstanding achievement in the law of taxation.

  • The Lenard Sigal Memorial Award

    To the graduate who demonstrated excellence in criminal law studies.

  • Technical Advisory Service for Attorneys (TASA) Prize for Outstanding Performance in the Field of Evidence

    Established by Edwin H. Sherman, former member of the Board of Trustees and past president of the General Alumni Association, and Jay L. Rosen, past president of the General Alumni Association, who are co-founders of Technical Advisory Service for Attorneys. To the students who excelled in the field of evidence.

  • Benjamin L. Winderman Award

    Awarded to the graduating student in the JD/MBA program who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.

  • Julian Eule Scholarship Award

    Established by his colleagues and friends to honor Julian Eule, a member of the Temple Law Faculty from 1977 to 1984, this prize is awarded to the graduating student who, in the opinion of the faculty, wrote the best paper in the area of federal or state constitutional or procedural law.

  • Albert H. Friedman Prize

    In memory of Albert H. Friedman, Class of 1929, a dedicated lawyer for 52 years. Awarded for outstanding performance in the production of a writing project.

  • Jack M. Golden and Frieda Golden Prize

    Established by Charles M. Golden, Esq., Class of 1961, and presented to the law school to honor his parents. Awarded to the student who demonstrates superior qualities in legal research and writing which advance an understanding of health care and health administration.

  • The Jacob Kossman Award in Criminal Law

    To the student who submitted the best paper in the field of constitutional rights and privileges of persons accused of a crime.

  • The Kranzel Award

    Established in memory of Frank Kranzel and in honor of Sonia Kranzel by their son Judge Isador Kranzel, Class of 1956. Awarded to the graduate who wrote the best paper in the areas of public service, state or local government regulations, or health law.

  • Arthur G. Raynes Award

    For scholarly achievement in the law as relates directly to research, organization of thought, clarity, and the ability to draw explicit conclusions.

  • The J. Howard Reber Memorial Award

    Established by the Law Alumni Association for excellence in student editing and writing for the Temple Law Review.

  • Henry J. Richardson, III Award

    Established to honor Henry J. Richardson, III, Professor of Law, for his personal contribution to critical thinking in the areas of international law, development, and human rights, and his dedication to fostering thoughtful scholarship in these areas. Awarded to the student who wrote the best paper in the field of international human rights.

  • The Sarah A. Shull Memorial Award

    Established by Dr. and Mrs. Elden S. Magaw for excellence in legal research and writing.

  • The Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter Award

    This award was established to commemorate Judge Sloviter=s term as Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. The award is given annually to a student who writes an excellent paper in the area of federal judicial administration or federal jurisdiction.

  • The Smith and Leibel Family Law Award

    Established by two alumnae of the law school who practice domestic relations law to emphasize the importance of this area. Awarded to the student who wrote the best paper on a topic related to family law.

  • Tau Epsilon Rho Law Schwartzberg Prize

    Presented by the Tau Epsilon Rho Law Society, Philadelphia Chapter to the graduating student who wrote the best paper on a topic related to professional responsibility.

  • The John Colvin Wright, Jr., Esquire Award

    Established to honor the life and memory of John Colvin Wright, Jr. Esq. This award recognizes a graduating law student who demonstrates academic achievement in the field of labor or employment law through coursework, a research paper, or Law Review comment, article or note.

  • Center for Forensic Economic Studies Jerome M. Staller Award

    Awarded annually to the graduates who have proven themselves in litigation areas to be the most promising litigators.

  • Myron H. Deutsch ’60 Memorial Award

    Established by his colleagues to honor the memory of Myron H. Deutsch ’60, this award is given to graduates who have excelled in the trial advocacy program.

  • Andrew Gay Award

    Established by Edward Chacker, Esquire, in honor of Andrew Gay, Class of 1963, this award is presented to a student who has excelled in trial advocacy particularly in the area of criminal law.

  • Integrated Trial Advocacy Program Award

    To a graduate who has demonstrated excellence in civil trial advocacy skills.

  • The International Academy of Trial Lawyers’ Prize

    For distinguished achievement in the art and science of advocacy.

  • The Victor S. Jaczun Award

    To a graduate who has demonstrated excellence in trial advocacy.

  • The National Order of the Barristers Award

    Awarded to the graduates who have exhibited excellence in the art of oral advocacy and brief writing through appellate moot court and mock trial programs.

  • Philadelphia Trial Lawyers’ Association James J. Manderino Award

    To the outstanding student in trial advocacy.

  • The Henry Kent Anderson Human Services Award

    Established by his great-grandson in 2005, this award honors Henry Kent Anderson, a native American Cherokee who was born in 1855 and dedicated his life to the cause of human rights and social justice for his people. It is awarded to a student whose challenging career has demonstrated, through exemplary work and deed, a concern for the victims of society=s inequities.

  • The Albert M. Cohen Memorial Award

    Offered by Lambda Sigma Kappa law fraternity to the graduates who rendered outstanding service to the law school in the work of the Student Bar Association.

  • The Beth Cross Award

    Awarded to graduates who are planning a career in public interest law and who have demonstrated Ms. Cross= commitment and dedication to providing legal assistance to underserved populations.

  • The Crossen Award

    Awarded to the graduates who have overcome adversity and demonstrated perseverance in obtaining a law degree.

  • Jacquelyn E. Davis Johnson Success Award

    Awarded to a graduate who will incur expenses in preparing for the bar examination and is a dues-paid member of the Black Law Students Association and who has contributed to the law school community.

  • Harriet Robinson Gillock Memorial Fund Award

    Established by the friends of Harriet Robinson Gillock, Class of 1980, to perpetuate and honor her memory. Awarded to the outstanding graduates who most exemplifies Harriet Gillock’s integrity and her professional and personal dedication to her fellow students and the law school community.

  • The Lena L. Hale Award

    To the graduates chosen by the faculty for outstanding extracurricular contributions.

  • Elizabeth C. High Award

    Established by her classmates and friends in honor of Elizabeth C. High, Class of 2009, to a graduate who demonstrated academic achievement while overcoming significant adversity and contributing to the law school community.

  • Sarah J. Love Memorial Award

    This award recognizes a student who had great impact on community justice issues during her law school career, in particular while working at the Stephen and Sandra Sheller Center for Social Justice.

  • The Captain Robert Miller Knox Award

    Created by his mother, Helen Knox. To the graduate chosen by the faculty for the most outstanding contribution to the law school community.

  • The H. Monica Rasch Memorial Award

    To the graduate who demonstrated academic achievement while overcoming adversity, with a preference for graduates who have children or were members of the Temple Law Review.

  • The Sender and Janina Szwalbenest Memorial Award

    Established by Ben J. Szwalbenest, Class of 1981, to honor his parents. The award is given to a graduate who is an immigrant or is the child of immigrants and who rendered outstanding service to the law school and the community.

  • Jerry Zaslow Memorial Award

    To the graduates who demonstrated outstanding academic achievement as well as well-rounded activity within the law school community.
