Philadelphia has enacted several progressive laws to protect workers, such as the law to combat wage theft, paid sick leave, and the new fair workweek ordinance. The Sheller Center, for example, worked with coalition partners on this issue of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/law.temple.edu\/ejc\/publication\/shortchanged-how-wage-theft-harms-pennsylvanias-workers-and-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/law.temple.edu\/ejc\/publication\/shortchanged-how-wage-theft-harms-pennsylvanias-workers-and-economy\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1553694904770000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEQLcY3YeP2yHacvXl37s61KuEnYw\">wage theft<\/a>\u00a0back in 2016.
