Students in the Center\u2019s Social Justice Lawyering Clinic are studying the Philadelphia Police Department\u2019s \u201cLive Stop\u201d program, which authorizes police to tow a vehicle if, during a traffic stop, the driver cannot produce a current license or registration.\u00a0 An Inquirer <\/em>article (\u201cPhilly cops leave undocumented woman, kids in street, take car<\/a>\u201d) illustrates some of the problems that can result. \u00a0Working with New Sanctuary Movement of Philadelphia<\/a>, the Center is examining the impact of the law and comparing Philadelphia’s approach with that of other cities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
