{"id":581,"date":"2016-04-19T10:29:13","date_gmt":"2016-04-19T14:29:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.law.temple.edu\/compliancecenter\/?p=581"},"modified":"2022-10-13T18:03:14","modified_gmt":"2022-10-13T18:03:14","slug":"compliance-center-hosts-former-us-attorney-general-eric-holder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/law.temple.edu\/compliancecenter\/2016\/04\/19\/compliance-center-hosts-former-us-attorney-general-eric-holder\/","title":{"rendered":"Compliance Center Hosts Former US Attorney General Eric Holder"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Temple Law Center for Compliance and Ethics welcomed former US Attorney General to the Union League earlier this month as part of its CLE series, \u201cCurrent Trends in Compliance and Enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Holder touched on a number of issues involving both compliance and civil rights in a wide-ranging interview with Mike Holston, Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Merck Pharmaceutical. After exploring the DOJ\u2019s treatment of FCPA cases and the impact of corporate cooperation and transparency on the Department\u2019s decision about whether to prosecute, they turned to the impact Mr. Holder\u2019s work in the private sector had on his public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was better to have had the experience of having represented companies in between my positions in the Justice Department,\u201d he reflected. \u201cBy and large, big companies are trying to do the right thing.
