The new members include: Lisa Detwiler, Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer at FS Investments; Alejandro J Diaz, Chief Compliance Officer at Temple University; Patrik Florencio, Senior Vice President and Global Chief Compliance and Risk Officer at Amicus Therapeutics; Steve Harris, Senior Vice President and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Lincoln Financial Group; Abigail Hazlett, Partner at Pepper Troutman; and Kiley Smith Kelly, Principal at EY, which remains a founding donor to the Center. \u201cAs leaders in finance, biopharmaceuticals, higher education, and law, our incoming members bring important perspectives to the Board,\u201d said Jon Smollen, Practice Professor or Law and Executive Director for the Center for Compliance and Ethics. \u201cTheir leadership will be enormously helpful as we continue to implement our strategic plan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The six new members join a talented team of compliance and ethics leaders: Rick Collier, Director at Prothena; Charlene E. Davis, Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer at Aerie Pharmaceuticals; Kevin Dill, General Counsel at Tabula Rasa Healthcare; Tamsin Fast, Chief Compliance Officer at Aramark; Jennifer Heller, Former Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer, and Senior Deputy General Counsel at Comcast; Janet Holcombe, Vice President and Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer at Children\u2019s Hospital of Philadelphia; Matt Siembieda, Partner at Holland and Knight and Adjunct Professor of Law at Temple Law; Maribel Valentin, Senior Counsel, Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer at Temple University Health Systems; Hilary Wandall, Senior Vice President, Privacy Intelligence and General Counsel at TrustArc; and Caroline West, Global Chief Compliance Officer at Olympus Corporation, who is also the current Chair of the Advisory Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Advisory Board plays an essential role in shaping the Center\u2019s strategy, initiatives, and programs. Since its launch, the Center has made great strides to improve the understanding and practice of compliance and ethics through educational programming, public-private sector dialogues and research. With the guidance of the Advisory Board, the Center has a number of initiatives planned for 2020 including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A partnership with Temple\u2019s Fox Business School\u2019s Center for Executive Education to launch executive education programs that integrate the legal, operational, and management knowledge and skills required by the modern compliance professional;<\/li><li>Regular roundtables to facilitate the sharing of insights, best practices and knowledge across industry sectors and companies; and<\/li><li>Educational programs beyond the U.S. In November 2019, the Center in partnership with Temple University Japan launched its Asia Advisory Committee in Tokyo with plans for programs in 2020.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShaping the field of compliance and ethics is a collective endeavor which would not be possible without the insight, expertise and support of our Advisory Board,\u201d said Smollen. \u201cThe Advisory Board shares Temple\u2019s commitment and mission to improve the understanding and practice of compliance and ethics across disciplines, industries and sectors. We are excited about the contributions our new members will make and the ongoing leadership and support of our current Board members.
