As a first-generation law student, the Career Strategy & Professional Development team is excited to invite you to attend the exclusive three-day Temple Law & Cozen O’Connor First Generation Legal Career Academy! This program is designed specifically to support first-generation law students as you begin navigating the legal profession.

This intensive program is structured to give you a strong, early foundation in the knowledge, skills, and strategies that will enhance your success throughout your legal career. Over three days, you will gain both practical tools and insider perspectives on how legal industry hiring works. Attendance is optional but encouraged.

Program highlights

This program is focused on demystifying the legal profession and equipping you with concrete tools and strategies that you can begin using immediately as you begin your law school journey.

· Learning how to identify and evaluate a wide variety of legal career paths, including key practice areas, employer types, and industries

· Gaining a clear understanding of recruiting timelines, Summer Associate programs, and alternative pathways

· Receiving guidance on preparing competitive application materials for legal jobs, including resumes and cover letters

· Building core networking and professional communication skills while making real industry connections

· Exploring a wide variety of practice areas through practitioner panels and information sessions

· Engaging directly with CSPD Career Advisors to craft your own, individualized strategy for success
